Compliance:
Procedure:
We recommend that you
check our pricing policy and perhaps visit the Dotars Website to familiarize
yourself with government regulations if this is the first time that you have
considered an import vehicle.
The first step to complying a vehicle is to contact us to reserve a plate or plates, following which we will require a deposit and the signing an agreement with us. We will then make an import submission to Dotars and when approved we will forward a copy of the Import Approval to you, the customer. This enables the vehicle to leave Japan.
Once
the vehicle has arrived in Sydney we can either organize for the vehicle to be
picked up from the docks (for an additional charge) or you can organize your own
transport to our Kirrawee workshop. We will then proceed to check over the
vehicle and advise you as to what, if any modifications need to be made in order
to comply your vehicle, bearing in mind that it is a requirement that the
vehicle be “stock standard” to meet compliancing regulations.
Please be aware that we can only comply vehicles that have no accident
history and if your vehicle has been in a major accident it will need to be
either destroyed or shipped back to Japan as per Dotars Regulations. No
exceptions.
We will then proceed to comply your vehicle (s).
Finally, once your vehicle has
been complied we will then apply for the plate, and once received by us will be
affixed to your vehicle. We will then to contact you to advise you that the
vehicle is now ready for collection and after payment of any balance owing to
us; your vehicle will be released to you and ready to register with the RTA.
15 year old Vehicles
We are currently
complying a large number of 15 year old vehicles for customers, however due to
latest announcement from Dotars this number will obviously drop in coming
months. Please refer to the Dotars website if you require more information on
this. There will however still be some older vehicles eligible to be imported
under the SEVS scheme, and Chris and Emanuel are happy to advise you and
continue to comply these vehicles for our customers.
Please bear in mind that the older the vehicle is, potentially the more
work needs to be done to get it to the point of it being ready to register. This
is not always the case, but it pays to keep it in mind. Buying a cheaper car
doesn’t always end up that way!
