DYNAMIC LOCAL-E RANGE CHECK

This check is performed as the local-E data for each stick is processed. Each value is compared withhigh and low limits. If a point lies outside the high and low limits then a range check error is logged in the database. An indication is also shown on the main window. The range error can also be sent to external equipment such as an error indicating light. This is useful to the operator as a fast repeating error indication will be caused by a major problem with the grading machine.

The Figure below illustrates a typical range error profile. In this case the stick may have fractured during grading.

A real time analysis of the accumulated range errors is also provided. This analysis shows the percentage of sticks with out of range errors for different runs over a set period. The low and high errors are shown separately. The analysis can be used to detect changes in grading machine errors over time. An example is shown below where there are no high limit errors and a very low rate of low limit errors for most runs.
