DYNAMIC LOCAL-E DISPLAY AND DATA STORAGE

The Tadpole software reads and converts the dynamic local-E values measured by the grading machine into the standard units of GPa or million psi.

The readings of dynamic local-E are handled automatically for most functions. These functions include storage of the raw values and estimation of average E and 5th percentile E of the production grades. The readings can also be viewed and controlled via a special window containing a chart, controls etc part of which is shown below. This enables single stick profiles to be dealt with for QC or other purposes.

The window shows statistics of the current stick such as the lowest local-E position, low point grade, overall grade if the average local-E threshold is active, mean local-E, overall length. This display is buffered so that prior profiles can be easily accessed again.

The operator can save the individual profile to the database for later retrieval during static testing. The profile is then permanently linked to the results of the static testing.

Whenever the profile is first held by the operator a signal is generated to activate equipment to indicate or re-direct the stick as a QC sample.

The window also provides a manual or auto save capability for the stick local-E profiles so they can be saved into text files. This is normally used for experimental runs.
