MILL SYSTEMS

WTA designs and customises data logging & diagnostic systems for mechanical stress grading (MSG or MSR) and other sawmill operations.

The MSG systems are capable of recording data, including the timber stiffness, and saving it along with other important information into accurate and efficient formats. Data is then available for use by mill personnel for R&D and QC purposes.

The R&D side is mostly orientied to increasing the value of the log resource including: R&D into sawn log values to determine the production priorities for particular logs or plantation resources R&D into dry-mill processing techniques R&D into the MSG process itself, Evaluation of MSG grading accuracy etc.

MSG diagnostic monitoring systems are designed to monitor the MSG operating transducers to detect problems as they occur or before they occur. Other customised systems have been developed to log data from sawmill machinery. If you have a problem in getting information from your equipment then a system may be available or easily developed from our previous solutions.

Additional systems are sometimes incorpoated into the Tadpole Continuous Monitoring system on client special order. One of these systems is incorporated into the HCLT and CLT data logger system to provide indication that a reject stick has a merchantable length contained in it's length thus permitting the docking out of the merch length.

TRAINING

WTA has been training mill staff since the introduction of Mechanical Stress Grading in Australia and New Zealand.
