Introduced in 1972, the Wolseley Six was developed from the 18/85.

Instead of the 1.8 litre four of the 18/85, the Six was powered by the six-cylinder overhead camshaft engine of the Austin Maxi, which was also used for the Austin and Morris 2200. The engine was developed from the E-Series unit as used in the Austin Maxi.

The facia and seating were improved versions of those in the 18/85. The interior featured the usual walnut finish and seats were covered in luxury brushed nylon.

Optional extras were automatic transmission, an electrically heated rear window, Rostyle wheels, and power steering.

By the middle of 1974, with the Wolseley 1300 ceasing production, the Six became the only Wolseley in the model range. The Wolseley Six was discontinued in 1975.
