NEVER, EVER look at the sun with your naked eye. Either use a professionally made, purpose built solar filter that fits on the OBJECTIVE of the telescope (NOT the eyepiece) example, or use the projection method, as outlined here.

On June 8th, 2004, a rare ASTRONOMICAL event took place. Venus passed between the Earth and the Sun. For an explanation of this, go here:Transit of Venus

METHOD: MEADE ETX105, Solar Filter, MEADE LPI. Images were captured to disk, selected and stacked with Photoshop to create an animated GIF.
