About Us

Outback Australia

In 1992 Dot and I joined a group of people on a 26 day bus tour of outback Australia covering a distance of approximately 12 000 km. We drove express from Brisbane to Mt. Isa then across to Broome via Three Ways, Halls Creek and Derby; then down to Marble Bar, the Kirijini National Park and to Kalgoorlie-Boulder via Wiluna; then across the Nullarbor Plain, past the Flinders Ranges, on to Birdsville and finally back to Brisbane. We camped all the way and set up camp sometimes in caravan parks and often in the bush. We had a cook to prepare all the meals and guests were rostered on to help with the preparation of meals and washing up. We all washed our own dishes and helped with erecting and pulling down tents and unpacking and packing the bus. It was not exactly a luxury tour but we had a great time and saw many interesting places.
