In 1987 Dot and I toured New Zealand in a campervan and also spent some time tramping. On the North Island we visited numerous popular places such as Rotorua and Lake Taupo and walked up to the very scenic Red Crater on Mt Tongariro. On the South Island we toured the west coast, including the Franz Josef and Fox glaciers and Lake Matheson. We walked the Routeburn track and the Milford track as freedom trampers and visited the Mt Cook area before flying back to Australia from Christchurch.
