About Us

Stubai and Bernese Alps

After completing the 110 km long King Ludwig Walk between Starnberg and Fussen in Bavaria, Germany in 1994 Dot and I spent five days walking in the Stubaier Alpen in Austria. We spent two nights in the Franz Senn Hut, walked to the top of the 3000 m Rinnenspitze, spent one night in the Potsdamer Hut and one night in the Adolf Pichler Hut below the impressive Kalkkogel range.

After visiting Innsbruck we transferred to the village of Blatten in the Lotschen Valley of the Berner Alpen in Switzerland. From the beautiful, old village of Blatten we walked to the hut at Lotschen Pass where we spent the night. The following night was spent in a pension in the Gastere Valley and the next day took us over the Kanderfirn Glacier to the Mutthorn Hut. On the following day we walked down the Tschingelfirn Glacier to Stechelberg in the Lauterbrunnen Valley and took a bus to Wengen. Superb scenary all the way - the photos just don't do it justice!
