Objective

As the wave of Yoga awareness is sweeping across the world and yoga is gaining popularity as an effective tool for holistic living, there is a great demand for yoga teachers for the general public.

For a healthy body-mind the right knowledge of Yoga and the need to practice it correctly through qualified teachers has become the immediate need of the times.

To meet this need, we have designed and developed a popular and need based module called Yoga Instructors’ Certificate Course. The course consists of 80 hours theory and practice and 30 hours teaching experience. Classes are held on Saturdays from 9 to 5 for three months. Courses can also be individually tailored by appointment.
 

Syllabus: Theory

  1. Need of the hour, yoga concepts and definitions

  2. Basis of Yoga

  3. Streams of Yoga and Unity in Diversity

  4. Theory of Yogic practices—Asana, Pranayama, Kriyas and Meditation

  5. Applications of Yoga

    Introduction to Yoga Therapy

    Educational Applications

    Stress and Yoga

    Yoga for Sadhaks

    Other Applications

  6. Yoga and Diet

  7. S VYASA Movement

  8. Teaching techniques and introduction to research

Syllabus: Practicals
 

Yogasanas—Basic set,
Pranayama—the first course, Cyclic Meditation, Kriyas, Mudras and Bandhas, Devotional session, Teaching Techniques.
 

Duration:

Total 80 hours of theory and practice.

Field Experience:

Students are required to have 30 hours field experience at their own place.

Eligibility:

Men and Women 18 years of age upon graduation

Certificate:

A certificate will be issued to the successful candidate after complying with the above.

Course Donation:

As a non profit organisation we run our courses by donation only. We estimate our basic costs to be $1,000 per student.

Qualified teachers from sVYASA conduct the theory and practice sessions. When in Australian, visiting lecturers from the faculty of sVYASA in Bangalore will conduct the classes.

As a non profit organisation we run our courses by donation only. We estimate our basic costs to be $1,000 per student. A donation of $100 per student enables us to prepare your place in the course. Donations can be made by cash, cheque or money order.
