LHASA APSO
The Lhasa Apso is a small, long haired, hardy little house or outside dog. They originated from Tibet where they used to sit inside the monasteries and raise the alarm if any intruders managed to slip past the Tibetan Mastiffs on guard outside. They have acute hearing, and can tell the difference between friend or foe. The Lhasa is chary of strangers but if you indicate a visitor is not a treat, the Lhasa will not worry them. They have a double coat. The hair is just like humans and does not fall out everywhere. Regular grooming must be done to keep them in long coat or otherwise they can be clipped every 6 months. Lhasa’s can live up until they are 16-20 years of age. They are a very faithful little dog that grows to a height of 10 inches high for males and 9 inches for females. They are called a jellybean dog because they come in all different colours. I breed mainly creams, blacks, and golds. I myself have bred them for 20 years. In this time my husband and I have showed them for 6 years until all of them got their Aust. Championships up. I now still have the older Lhasa's and have kept some of their progeny as well.
