The following table of Standard Definition Digital TV (DVB-T) transmissions at various locations around Australia. It is based on the recorded filesizes on a Topfield "TF5000PVRt" PVR, which records subtitles and all appropriate audio streams along with the video for the selected logical channel.

There is a bit of experimental error and variance in the above numbers, not to mention rounding-off, but it is broadly correct and intended as an interesting comparison anyway, rather than something of any scientific importance.

To contribute a missing number, or a completely different location, please do the following:

Record a program from the station(s) to be contributed, ideally one hour or more (and set the timer to be sure of its timing) and a widescreen (16:9) program.
After the recording completes, find the file size (in Mbytes) for the recording, and confirm the number of minutes that was recorded.
Email me your location, the station(s) and file size(s) in Mbytes and time(s) (in minutes).

NB: To convert Mbytes/hour to Mbit/sec, multiply by 8 (8 bits in a byte) and divide by 3600 (3600 sec in an hour).
