New Apprenticeships

New Apprenticeships are a very real way to start a career while you earn and learn. At the same, New Apprenticeships combine practical work with structured training to give you a valuable qualification recognised by employers right across Australia.

New Apprenticeships are flexible. Your training can be on-the-job, off-the-job, or a combination of both. Off-the-job training is done at a TAFE colleges, business colleges or other approved training providers.

New Apprenticeships are secure. Your training is covered by formal agreements known aas either 'Training Agreements' or 'Contracts of Training'. These agreements cover the training and supervision an employer must provide for you as well as your obligations as a New Apprentice. You don't even have to wait until you leave school to get started. Many schools now offer you a chance to start a New Apprenticeship while completing year 11 or 12.
