When a good friend of my parents had a stroke I saw his frustration in communicating. I searched for a why to help him at an affordable cost and found nothing. So I developed the interactive speech multimedia program that lets stroke survivors and other disabled people communicate with ease - via the use of any inexpensive computer running on Windows 95+. All that is required is a sound card. A speaker and CD drive.
The program generates a human voice (recorded by a male opera singer. When touching a picture on the screen. It will talk, it ease the frustration of communication. All that is required is to point a finger or move the mouse to a picture on the screen (a head and eye pointer can also be used) and the image will be vocalized.
There is no need to press buttons or keystrokes or any other computer knowledge. The screen (monitor) can be located in any convenient location, and can be mounted anywhere and any position that is accessible for the user.
270 screens, with 3700 pictures all with verbal captions plus some additional special Games for the handicapped. There are also a number of exercises designed for work under the supervision of the therapist. The program and my services are preformed as a labour of love. However there is a cost involved in the production (copying /shipping /licensing) of the CD.
