Sunmist was founded in 1977 by Janet Ainscow
with the importation of the foundation bitch, Aust
& N.Z.Ch.Yuki Sharitsa
Samways who was bred in New Zealand.
The entire Ainscow family had been involved in
the breeding and showing of Samoyeds since 1965, with Janet's mother, June,
having established the Samsleigh Kennels which
was active from the late 1960's to the 1980's.
Sunmist is a small kennel, having bred 18 litters, 21 Champions and 2
Grand Champion to date, from 6 different bitches. Only quality Champion
show bitches have been retained at Sunmist for
breeding purposes with all sires chosen from leading kennels around Australia.
In 1998 frozen semen was imported from the United Kingdom and our first
artificial insemination litter was born in 2000.
