Band Info: Information About Our Band

Like Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, the Mavericks and the Big Bopper The Renegades' influences are from pure rock 'n' roll.

The Renegades prove that you can always add just a bit more rock to your rock 'n' roll.  An offshoot of swing, a precursor of rhythm and blues, granddaddy of rock ‘n’ roll, and a parallel universe of rockabilly when the Renegades take the stage they cover a lot of ground.

For sure the music The Renegades perform has got that Memphis beat, cool and rocking’ jive, rhythm and bop all rolled into a divine beat.  The Renegades have a repertoire of concentrated selections, presented in a brilliant package for your listening and dancing pleasure.

No doubt about it, these guys (and gals) have got talent!  No way are they just a bunch of musos playing rock 'n' roll songs!  The Renegades mean every note, performing with an edge over the rest with enough energy to drive a fleet of Chevrolets.

The Renegades features the new and talented female singers Jacquie Hollywood Kerri Rooney.  Both Kerri and Jacquie have performed with many great acts and they bring a wealth of talent and experience to the band giving the band its unique sound.

The back line consists of Barry Kelly (keyboards), Mick Rooney (bass), Rob Wheeler (drums) and Dan Sipple (guitar).

Barry played with respected Sydney band "Marty Rhone and the Soul Agents" and went on to join "Jeff St John and Copperwine" as well as the "Throb".

Mick Rooney hails from the legendary "Lonely Hearts", "Bigger Than Ben Hur" and the "Runaways".

Rob is only twenty years old and has been playing drums since he could walk.  He is very much the showman and is almost a show himself.  He is an excellent drummer with a big future.

Left handed guitar virtuoso, Dan Sipple, has only just recently joined the band.  Even though he is only twenty years old his guitar skills and showmanship complete this musical ensemble.

Combine the exceptional abilities of these talented players and you have The Renegades.

Think of Buddy Holly, Wanda Jackson, The Big O, Helen Shapiro & Chuck Berry all rolled into one and playing the tunes that you can dance to all night and you begin to appreciate the phenomenon that is The Renegades
