Adelaide last
night scoffed at suggestions its chief executive officer, Bill Sanders,
would retire this week before eventually taking over the club chairmanship.
A club spokesman said Sanders had no plans to step aside immediately,
but acknowledged the foundation administrator was likely to bow out
at the end of the season. Sanders was rumoured to be replaced by communications
manager Steven Trigg.

Kangaroos
15.10 (100)
Adelaide 25.12 (162)
Adelaide ended
the Kangaroos' nine-year run of AFL finals campaigns Friday night,
winning their match at Colonial Stadium by 62 points.
The Crows led
throughout and kicked seven goals to one in the last term to thrash
the 'Roos 25.12 (162) to 15.10 (100). Crows midfielder Andrew McLeod
was outstanding again with 35 possessions while captain Mark Ricciuto,
Ian Perrie and former Kangaroo Mark Stevens kicked five goals each.
Ricciuto
also had 35 possessions and was close behind McLeod as best afield.
Adelaide was

as the Crows led from the start and had a 16-point break at the first
change.

to do a job, that was to get a win - the percentage was a bonus and
now we have a very, very difficult game against Hawthorn next week,'
Ayres said.
'If you take
your foot off the pedal, if you take your mind off having the right
attitude and preparation, you can be back in the pack - that's how
bloody tight it is.'
But the Crows
were winners and with that the season remains alive and September
action is up to the team, as they now control their own destiny from
here on in...
