The layout was first designed in 1996 as a single line which dog bones over itself. The layout represents the fallen flags of Union Pacific in the mid 80's. This includes such railroads as Missouri Pacific (MOPAC), Missouri Kansas Texas (MKT), Western Pacific (WP) Denver and Rio Grande (DRGW) and Southern Pacific (SP). Although it does not depict any prototypical area the layout represesnts motive power of the 70's and 80's era.
The layout is situated along the back wall of my entertainment room with the reverse curve under the house to enable the loop to continue along the wall.
The layout is approximately 4.5 metres (15 feet) in length although the main line is 30 metres (90 feet) in length which permits a good length train to operate.
