MR. JOHN COOK. The news of the death of Mr. John Cook, which took place at his residence, Rochford came as a great shock to numerous friends. He had been assisting to lope trees in the Church grounds near his residence on Saturday afternoon. He complained of pains in the chest and before he could receive medical attention he had passed away. He was a native of the district being a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Cook. For many years he and his brother had conducted a blacksmiths' business in Rochford. He was not only well known and respected in Rochford, but in Lancefield, Romsey, Woodend and Newham districts as well, and in all these parts his passing away is deeply regretted. The deceased leaves a widow, for whom a great deal of sympathy has been expressed, to mourn her great loss.
