CoverMemories

The isolated 42-inch gauge railway system of South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula has been the passion of my brother Peter Knife for a long time.  After years of research, Peter launched his book on the history of this system – Peninsula Pioneer – on 4 April 2006.  This book is the definitive work on this unique and fascinating railway, and should be a “must’ on every enthusiast’s book list.  Go to the Peninsula Pioneer web site for more details and, while you are there, visit also Peter’s own web site for the Eyre Peninsula railway system, Minnipa

If you enjoyed this book - or if you missed out on getting one - then don't miss getting Peter's new book - Peninsula Memories. Written in conjunction with wife Margaret, this delightful book is a collection of stories of the railwaymen and women of the Eyre Peninsula. Order this book through the Peninsula Pioneer website, or contact Peter direct for your copy. Order now - while there are still some copies left!

In July 2001 the trains ran for the last time on John Charman's wonderful Charford layout. This most inspirational model railway has been a favourite of mine for many years. Follow the CHARFORD button on the left to see my appreciation of fifty years of the Charford branch.
