I don't have much in the way of details for motels - The closest motel is at Beenleigh, but if you're flying in to Coolangatta, or driving in from the South the motels on the Gold Coast strip would be best. For
those who wish to be close to the venue, the nearest motel is the Beenleigh
Yatala Motor Inn, at Beenleigh,
shown in the above map. The venue is just a few kilometres South. Their web site
is http://www.beenleighyatalamotorinn.com.au/ telephone 07 3807 2555.
Interstate/International visitors - Public transport from the Gold Coast will be easiest by bus, but there are a few Gold Coast residents who may be able to offer a lift. If you do have to use the bus, just contact us at the show venue via mobile and we'll arrange to pick you up from the bus stop.
Last few days weather forecast The event was held as planned and with perfect Queensland winter weather. The atmosphere was great with country bands, campfires at night and plenty of visitors to the rally. Slightly disappointing number of exhibitors, but those who made the effort enjoyed themselves immensely. Some of the "Members" L to R Denys Parker, Phil Kronk, Andrew/Joy/Dave Dockray Awards for displays were - 1st place for "Best Display" was Tony Falzon and Phil Kronk for their display of very early telephones - well done. Equal 2nd place was Denys Parker with his "animated novelties" phones display. and Murray Pomroy with his display of wood wall phones Best Individual item went to Murray Pomroy for his LME "Single Cell".
