About 1 month ago I had the standard clutch upgraded to a 2800lbs kit from Direct Clutch Services at Albion. It was kind of weird driving this clutch as the standard one was so soft. The other problem encountered was now the gearbox seems very stiff. What I mean is that it is now tougher to change gears quickly. Previously I could change 1st-2nd with a flick of the wrist, now I have to physically push it down into gear. Feels very notchy. Along with this is the quite substantial axle tramp. I may take the car to Fulcrum Suspension to see if we can sort it out, if i can be bothered. I hardly drive the car anymore. It sits in the garage all day while i take the train to work. The cars build date is February 2000, so it's only a month and a bit off 3 years old and it has a grand total of 31,000kms on the clock.

The other update i have is that the site is getting an overhaul. I have been working on a new design for the last couple of weeks. Not sure when i will upload it as it still needs some finishing touches.

Well, I had the car advertised for sale for over 6 weeks in separate papers and on the net and in all that time I only had 2 genuine callers. All the other calls were car brokers trying to get a cheap deal, wankers. So that means that the car is no longer advertised for sale. I shall keep it for the time being. I do have some ideas for a few more modifications but they will depend on how other things work out that I have on the go.

I have added a some pictures I took at DragCombat here.

Also I have added some more pictures in the Gallery of my car. Recently had some of my old stereo installed, consisting of an Alpine CDA7831E head unit, Clarion APA-4300 4x75w rms amplifier, Kef Kar 160 6.5inch splits and an Image Dynamics IDQ12-DVC subwoofer. At the same time I had the guys at Northfield Nundah mount the Apexi AVC-R boost controller under the Alpine CD player. It looks great and I'm very happy with their workmanship. The great thing was there was no metal cut and no holes drilled to install the stereo.

Last night was a test n tune night at Willowbank raceway. I decided I might as well give it a go. I'd have to say I have a new found respect for drag racers. It was very difficult to run a quick time, much harder than a rolling start on the M1 kind of race. Wearing a helmet in the car is weird to. I couldn't hear my engine at all and so it was hard to judge rpm's by the sound as there wasn't any. My first run was against a friend of mine is his stocker S15 200SX. (The car is completely standard except for 10psi boost. He ran a best time of 14.2 @ 99 mph. That was an awesome effort as far as I'm concerned.) On our first run it took him a little time to line up on the staging lights and the longer he took the more nervous I was getting! My clutch leg was shaking uncontrollably. So I just dumped the clutch big time, the car hopped all of 1st gear which was very unnerving. 14.000 @ 103.33 mph was the result. Next run was against a turbocharged Honda Vtec Integra. This time I tried to feather the clutch a little but just ended up bogging down. I won the race with a 14.182 @ 104.72 mph. (That Honda later ran a 13.3 at a whopping 118 mph)

At this stage I was pretty disappointed as I have to say I was expecting to run a 13sec pass and I also think my mph is a little slow for the power I'm supposed to be getting @ the wheels. Anyway, after a long wait for the track to be cleaned up after a spill I finally got my third and final run as it started raining as I was getting my timecard. Got a slightly better take off, however towards the end of 1st gear the car started bouncing again. I really didn't think it was going to be a quicker time than the previous two runs. So it was to my surprise that the timecard showed a 13.87 @ 103.33 mph. Better time but slower mph again. Have to say I was feeling a little better then to have run a 13 sec pass, but still think the car is, and should be, capable of better times.

On the Video page there are two new video's of the first and second runs, unfortunately we didn't get the third run on video.
