Pinky and Cc are of course characters in my Pinky TA web comic. I went for a rougher look here in my digital art. The background is all clean and spunky, but the figures were coloured pretty roughly, (at the original size of 2598 x 3012 at 300 dpi), shrinking them down to this size smoothes it out a bit. I like the effect. I also like those 80's hair cuts. Yeah, that colouring style turned out very well in this case.

I've since moved in a slightly different direction with my digital colour. Rather than coloured pencils like this example resembles, my work now has much more of a watercolour, general painterly look and feel to it. It's quite a bit faster, easier, more fun to do and often looks nicer because of it. This technique is nice and fine, but a little clinical and a bit too precise in flavour for my taste now.
