A digital painting inspired by the beautiful Claudia Moreno-Toscane (click the name to see her site). I've used my favourite 1920's influence and thrown in a lot of rich dark violet and crimson. Note the cigarette holder and the cloche hat! Claudia is a model and photographer who likes artists to create visual impressions of her. On the right you can see my original grey sketch. I like it because it reminds me of an old photo. But nothing beats colour! A word on technique: I did all the tones in grey first, set that layer to 'multiply', then coloured the layer below. It's an easy way to get nice shadows

The proportions are a bit strange... But I like it. I've done a normal version, but I still like this one better.
