Stuff you probably don't want
to know...
I live in Perth, Western Australia.
I'm a small, thin fellow and I haven't changed
much since I turned 18 -I weigh the same, my hair's
the same length and I'm still just as stupid.
The only real difference is that my cheeks are
a bit more hollow and my whiskers are thicker.
I like to draw, paint and make things, especially pictures.
I studied fine art and design academically for at least
7 years. Earned a Diploma of art and design and a BA
Degree in visual art.
I did a course in Interactive Multimedia as a post grad
degree, but decided to graduate with Grad Diploma rather
than continue to the end and get a Masters. SICK of
being a student, tired of writing and researching...
I've had my art up on the net since the
first day of 2000: Fantasy and scifi art at Elfwood.
I became quite known for Sci-fi and fantasy art, but
I don't really enjoy it much anymore. That's quite funny
when I think that back to when I was studying art, the
sci-fi and fantasy stuff was discouraged quite firmly
and it was such a relief to get back into it again after
all that dry student stuff was over. I must have worked
it out of my system! Now I just draw whatever.
How do I make a living? Anything from graphic
design, to comissions, lecturing, Admin booking
officer for a helathcare company... Whatever pays
the bills.
My name is of course Michael John Morris
but online I go by Ozoneocean. That name comes from
the mixed up titles of two Led Zeppelin songs: Ozone
Baby and The Ocean (my fave Led Zep song). I'm also
a little bit of a hippy... I'm quite left wing, I hate
classism, I don't like nationalism, I don't drive or
own a car, I recycle mostly everything, I love animals,
I'm not religious, I fix things rather than throw them
away (I can fix almost anything), blah, blah blah!
BUT, I also quite like meat, wearing fur is fine with
me, I quite like traditionalism and I like the idea
of monarchies (in general). I won't go on, but people
don't fit into neat little boxes you know?
I have a fine hat collection, a massive library, and
a fantastic collection of feathers. Bellow are some
pics of me. Most of the time I wear berets these days;
they're comfy, they keep my hair tame, they're warm
on the ears on a cold day, and they fit in your pocket
without losing their shape. I've got about 6 but I only
wear 3 regularly.
