Photo 1  HMS Goliath anchored off Hong Kong in 1900. Arthur John Neech was transferred to Goliath at the start of the Opium War and remained with her for the duration.
Photo 2   HMAS Brisbane (abt 1914) at anchor in Athol Bight, Sydney Harbour.  Arthur John Neech was transferred to HMAS Melbourne, a sister ship of the same class.  In 1914 in is stated in Arthur's Navy records that he "Took part in the operations in German New Guinea"

Eva Neech at work in the family business. Arthur Neech purchased the mixed business at 326 Parramatta Road, Homebush, NSW Australia.  He went broke during the "Big Depression" and sold out for a song about 1931.
