The Journey Begins...

JAMES MORISON was born about 1690 in Auchinner, Glen Artney - a Parish of Comrie, Scotland. Our research shows James listed as being a direct descendant of the original Donald, but he is a distant descendant of his ancestor. We have been unable to obtain any information regarding through whom he is related to the original Donald.

JAMES MORISON married ELISABETH MCKIALL and they had a son named Donald Morison, born 1709 at Comrie, Perthshire, Scotland.

DONALD MORISON was born 1709 in Comrie, Perthshire, Scotland. He was also known as DANIEL. He first married JANET MCFARLANE on 28 July 1737 in Callander, Perthshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of JOHN MCFARLANE and MARY MCFARLANE. Janet was born in 1718 in Balquidder Parish, Perthshire, Scotland.

Donald (aka Daniel) later married ELIZABETH MCKENZIE about 1771 in Comrie Perthshire, Scotland.

Research suggests that Donald initially recorded only some of the children that he had fathered in Comrie, but later handed over a list of his other children. No reason is provided for this delay, but the births were recorded in separate church records. It is possible that most of these children's names were duplications, which may just have been Donald's attempt to make sure the individuals were all entered.

Basic information regarding Donald's children and his wives is available from the Webmaster at: ozmorrie@bigpond.net.au. The information gives some birthdates, christening dates and locations.

DONALD (aka DANIEL)'s seventh child was WILLIAM MORISON born in 1748.
