 What is it?

gconfsole is an ncurses application designed to be used to view and update gconf data repositories. It will provide administrators with an easy way to update settings remotely, and users with a way to browse their application configuration data. It also gives developers a fast, lightweight monitor to watch as their program updates gconf entries.

 Features

Some of the features are:

  • Collapsed views to keep focus on what is interesting
  • Automatic updates of displayed data via gconf notifications
  • [TODO] Edit entry values, add new entries, and delete entries
  • [TODO] Display, add, remove and modify entry schemas
  • [TODO] Regexp searching for keys or values

 Credits

gconfsole is currently the fault of Byron Ellacott. Andrae Muys prompted interest in gconf, and encouraged development of gconfsole. See Links for links to other projects and relevant gconf material.
