In Miracle circles Ron Owen was a quiet man. While only becoming a student of A Course in Miracles® in 1990 after attending a Jack and Layle Luckett intensive in Sydney he immediately displayed an intense interest in the thought system. Like all of us living in this world, Ron's life had not necessarily gone all that well but he used the principles of forgiveness to bring him peace, an attribute he always seemed to convey. He was in 'fast forward' mode. Ron's cheery face was regularly seen at many Miracle meetings and Miracle special events all over Sydney.
Morris Robertson, facilitator of Sydney's Lindfield Miracle class, set some homework questions to be prepared for the last meeting for 1994. The first question was a request to explain the 'separation' and the other question was - "Why do we prefer to be unhappy, unpeaceful, anxious and depressed" Morris had intended that the question would be answered on the practical level (' level 2') but Ron's answer was strictly a' level 1' answer.
"Firstly I would like to say how appreciative and grateful I feel for the Course's explanation and teaching on the themes it calls 'the separation', the insane workings of the ego and the Oneness of the Son of God which includes Jesus as an equal to us.
Happily, these themes have totally changed and altered my outlook and understanding of life and given me much comfort.
Question #1
The separation, which is the cornerstone of the ego's thought system (ego being the illusionary self) believes that a separation between God / Creator / Source and his Son (You /me / humanity), actually occurred.
But the Course emphasises that this is not so.

But because, with a body and perception and not Vision (Knowledge), we live on this planet/ in this world, it seems at first that the so-called separation is real. But, hang on a minute - This is only illusion! We are dreaming this - dreaming in / of exile and separation. Will we wake up from our dream? Inevitably so. ALL WILL AWAKEN!
When will it happen? IT HAS! But in illusionary time and space, until our split-mind, (which seemingly consists of our REAL SELF ? SPIRIT ? LOVE) and our illusionary, small, limited, full of fear, guilt and attack ego-self, makes the choice (with the help of the Holy Spirit/Guide/ Healer) that we want ONLY the truth and nothing else.
Then our illusions (ALL) will be undone.
WE AWAKE!!!!
Ron's answer to the second question.
"Why do we prefer to be unhappy, unpeaceful,
anxious and depressed?"
" Strange question!. I don't prefer to be unhappy, unpeaceful anxious and depressed.
In this world, how could I be unhappy when I have as my guide, The Holy Spirit who has the overall plan, sees all in Reality and has insight into my life and all the lives in the Sonship and Knows what is specifically best for me and is guiding me towards it.
How can I be unpeaceful when the Prince of Peace, my loving elder brother has overcome the world and has promised to be ever with me?
How can I be depressed when I am going Home to where I belong and what I was created for to recover my true inheritance and forever with my brothers and sisters to become one with the Sonship united with the Father in total Joy. This is my preference

Close friends remarked how happy Ron had been in the days just prior to his passing and on the day he died; he waved goodbye to a friend with a friendly smile just before dropping dead with what the world would say was a massive heart attack. It was so quick he could not have experienced any pain

He simply laid down his body when its work was done.
