Aircraft Models

1/200 scale DC8-62 which I converted from the Doyusha DC8-61 (stretched) kit. Fuselage was shortened by removing sections forward and aft of the wings. Engines/pylons scratchbuilt. Wing leading edges smoothed and re-shaped (the -61's pylons wrap up and over the wing leading edge. Refer photo here).

The airline livery is for my own freelanced airline, "Worldair", so you won't recognise it! This airline also operates other "McDonnell Douglas" airliners, the DC9-50 (photo here) and the DC10-30.

Here is a photo of the model sitting on my workbench. I scratchbuilt the engines using small diameter plastic tubing (from the hobby store). The tubing was put in the chuck of my power drill and, while spinning, shaped with a piece of sandpaper. The spinners inside the nacelles are actually small LEDs painted silver!
With the help of Adobe Photoshop, the workbench disappears and PRESTO, we have "sky" for this "ramp" shot:-
