M-Class Planet

Welcome to M-Class Planet, a website dedicated to all the interesting things I do in between working and sleeping, as well as pointing fingers at the people I know.

I spend a lot of time roleplaying; at least twice each weekend if I possibly can. At the moment our group is playing Mage, Amber and 7th Sea, all good fun. We like to keep lots of quotes from each game, which are a great read when you're having a bad day at work.

I manage the websites for one of our Amber games, "Heirs to the last days of the Universe". It's a grand name for a bunch of depressed elder Amberites and some really confused younger ones. All of them, apparently, stuck between 2 mugs of ale. The moral of the story is; never let Gerard educate your children in metaphysics.

Then there's our KULT game. Three ordinary people, trying to make sense of the strange things that are happening in New York. There's a conspiracy theorist with paranoid delusions, a paramedic who sees dead people and the owner of a low class titty bar. They've had weird dreams, investigated a sex witch, saved the world from a baseball and been to hell and survived. They're not really in good shape.

If you're looking for a great resource for roleplaying, check out GameWyrd. If you want to battle, my Irid is ready for you! The site also comes with forums and reviews on just about every game ever invented.

Recently I acquired a digital camera so, when the weather is good, I try to get out and take some shots of the surrounding area and wildlife. At the moment I'm using a photoblog to display them, but one day I will get around to putting them on a real site.

In between all this I try to find time to write; I've been writing for years but still haven't finished a book! I've also just started a shared-world writing project with some friends.

I've been around on the web for years and know a couple of interesting people; there's Jo, a fellow writer and roleplayer; Kindra, a writer and re-enactor from the USA; and Torama, who's just produced a minature version of herself and is also trying to produce a comic. There are other people, but they have avoided the painful and unrewarding exercise of producing webpages so I wont mention them here.

All of the work on these pages is my own, with the exception of a couple of navbars which I learned from Listmatic. In the interests of promoting amateurs like myself who love to play with design, I've made a page full of links to resources that you can use. If you're looking for a book, I recommend SAMS Teach yourself HTML and XHTML in 24 hours. That was my starting point and is still a great reference. Check out their webpage, the 24 hour HTML cafe for more information.
