We'd been to a few caravan and camping shows and at one of the last ones, they had a Roadstar Grange Tuscany. Apart from the price tag, Shona and I could see ourselves living in something like this. We were still struggling to see where the extra $30,000 over what we'd paid for the Jayco was though! Granted it was a bit longer, and it contained such things as a swivel mounted flat panel screen (but the flat panel was NOT shown as included in the sheet we picked up on it). On a recent trip, there was a Grange on a nearby site, and the owner was extremely happy with it. I don't recall what he was towing it with, nor how extensive his experiences were, just that he was beaming from ear-to-ear a lot!
We later went to a caravan yard and were looking at a Compass brand caravan, and we thought the layout would work well for us if it were just a little larger. We later found out that Compass is the cheaper sister company to Roadstar and they are both made by the same company. Our thoughts swung back around to Roadstar again. Back to TopAs the Roadstar dealership was just up the road from us, we drove over to have another look at the vans. We were told that they no longer had the dealership and could only sell us the stock they had on the floor. We surfed over to the Roadstar Website and tried to work out a floorplan that might work for us. We also a sent a note off their site to them asking for more information. They responded reasonably quickly and pointed us over at the new dealer in Victoria. So we drove over to meet with the sales guy and took our plan with us. He took a copy and had a chat with us, but couldn't show us anything much as they had only just got the dealership and had no stock yet. He's since lost the plan and our file, so our confidence factor isn't high! When we looked inside one of the vans at the old dealership we noted it was a Dometic RM4401. From our experiences with the same model in our Jayco, we think we'll keep looking for a while. Back to Top |
