The "Near" branch of this site could just as easily been called "Home", and the "Far" could have been called "Away", but that brought to mind a TV soap and we didn't want to portray the wrong idea.

The "Places" branch of the Website is focussed on sights and going places! Both natural and man-made things to look at. (They may excite some of your other senses as well when you are actually there, but only sight [and maybe later sound] can be readily presented via this Web. Imagine a Website that was the total sensory trip? A site that gave you the smell of the seaweed, the feel of the wind in your face and sand between your toes, the roaring sound of waves crashing on the beach, and that dreaded feeling from the wet plop that just happened on your head from the seagulls squawking overhead!?)

Shona and I both love travelling. Shona's been quite active at it (particularly overseas), and I have done a fair bit of "arm chair" touring. Closer to home, I love driving and we tend to just go for drives and enjoy the view and country air.....

We both like home life just as much, and at least one of us is a keen gardener and budding landscaper!
