General Cadd Pro -----Generic Cadd for Windows

      Why GCP is here
General Cadd Pro, GCP, takes the technology behind the Generic Cadd software into this century. Generic Cadd stopped developments in 1992..This software is still used around the world over a decade later. Users now battle problems with running a DOS program through the developments of the Windows environment. Problems with printer drivers for modern pinters and problems with Video cards not supporting VESA standards are posing severe threats to continued use. Conversion to DWG and DXF formats are left at V12 standards. There are workarounds, but for how much longer? Still, many users refuse to give it up.
Generic Cadd Forum.
User thanks go to Noel Browning, the man behind the
Generic Cadd Forum which has provided invaluable support for Generic Cadd users over the last few years. Generic Cadd now runs on XP computers.
Generic Cadd for Windows
The programmers behind General Cadd Pro were part of the original programming team for Generic Cadd. They are now taking Generic Cadd into Windows. Old Generic Cadd may take its honorable place in history. General Cadd Pro provides the transition for users into Windows and develops enhancements in the Windows environment.

      GCP - General Cadd Pro
GCP is rooted in Generic Cadd. It is already far beyond that.
Generic Cadd Users

If you are a current or a former Generic Cadd user, then you will find GCP very familiar. Explore the demo version and look for for enhancements. Read some
Testimonials from users like yourself who have tried the software.
Not a generic Cadd User
If you are not familiar with Generic Cadd, you may ask yourself "why do these guys persist?".
All of them have tried other cadd software. The attachment lies in the direct and intuitive interface which is now transported into General Cadd Pro. The screen is kept simple with pop-ups only when serving a purpose. Minimum mouse-movement. Side menus pop up for various settings with a "tandem" cursor. Command prompt lines are used for input by key or mouse. Programmable key combinations for assignments of automating macros. Selection with filtering at your fingertips. Your focus stays on the drawing with minimum screen interference.
Speed and Flexibility
2 letter direct command entry. Commands start without a Return entry. Keyboard and mouse combine for accuracy and speed. Someone stated that the keyboard in Cadd had become obsolete, everything happens through mouse entry. GCP users do not believe that You can spend your day clicking in GCP as well if you wish. But we are talking about speed here.
You may believe in Styles and Systems. In GCP we don't. GCP meets every situation with flexibility and on the spot decisions.
OK let's talk about Systems
GCP programmable features let's you set up simple or complex systems. At the root of this is the simple but comprehensive Macro Code. It includes variables and file read/write code. Macros can be called from the command line, from keyboard combinations and from programmable side menus. Combine this with selectable environment files and linetype files and you tell GCP where the limits are.
Features
General Cadd Pro is adding new features in every new version. Don't look for 3D yet, GCP is still a 2D program. Let's take a look at a current list of
Features in GCP

Screen
  GCP in Action
You can see some selected screenshots here. This Madswede selection is geared at showing macros in action. GCP is used by a wide variety of users for a wide variety of uses. Macros automate the general and also take the general to the special. Whatever your field of action is, a GCP macro can do it for you.

Order
Page
  Order GCP from Sydney
You can order GCP here from stock held in Sydney, pay with a cheque in Australian dollars and have it delivered to your door by Australia Post Registered Mail. Read the GCP
Purchase Options first if you are unfamiliar with these.

Upgrade
Page
Upgrade your old version of GCP to the next
You can upgrade GCP here from Sydney and pay with a cheque in Australian dollars. You will need to provide the license number of your security device. The Upgrade is sent out from General Cadd Products via email and upgrades the code in your security device..

GCP does require a security device
The USB port device is smaller than a modern electronic car key. It is the "price" you pay for increasing the chances that GCP will stay in business. For that home computer you can use the same device or you may decide to purchase an extra license and let the device stay put. With this in mind the Support Plus agreement is good for 2 licenses. You would still be paying less than you would pay for 1 license of some other package. The installaton is included in the software installation and is painless. More information on the securrity device here : security device..
