Sometimes you stumble across something and you just have to have it. That was the way it went with my first 928. Not long ago I saw a post on the Landsharks mailing list about a Hong Kong imported 5 speed manual '82 928 in Brisbane.
I had a look at photos of it on the importer's web site (Supermerc Pty Ltd) and this started me thinking. The price: $8,000 pretty cheap. If it was ok...
As you can see the pictures suplied didn't give a great deal of info, but at that named price it seemed worth following up. Once the car cleared customs and I had it inspected by a company who deal in classic car inspections. The report was better than I expected. I had considered working the car over and using it as a track car for motorkana competition and the like. However given its apparently good condition inside and minimal damage outside it seemed a shame not to aim to restore it to original condition.
So far I have only seen pictures of the car, so I don't really know the overall state of it. Time will tell.
