The Second Series II

One day, we were visiting my dad's cousin's farm near Beaufort and we saw her late husband's dilapidated Series II in a shed...so, enthusiastically, David returned with a trailer to bring it back home, where it was amalgamated with parts from an identical model to make one perfect landie. That one did a lot of work in the high country and also trekked around Tasmania in the lakes district. He fitted a PTO winch to it, which was brilliant for getting us out of tight spots. The last time I was in that landie, I was about 26 weeks pregnant and the experience of all the rough suspension (landies are not made for wusses!) gave me premature contractions.

One of David's mates pointing to the waterline on Uncle Maurie's old Series II.......check out the angle of it!

The Series II veered off the road, near Omeo, due to the diff lock, left on between two difficult 4WD sections.

He sold this Series II, keeping a good number of spare parts, axles, etc...that I kept suggesting would look great on the nature strip for the next council hard rubbish collection. No such luck!
