A tranquil retreat with spectacular ocean views from the living room, kitchen, bathroom and both bedrooms, with the Angahook Forest literally across the road. The birds and koalas visit frequently. This is a peaceful haven, with simple home comforts in a location combining natural Australian bush with the magnificence of the Great Ocean Road coast and the gentle sounds of the surf.

An ideal location for:
~ a family holiday with the Kennett River surf beach just a 10 minute walk (or a few minutes drive) away; or
~ a retreat for soothing the soul and simply relaxing in the wilderness
~ a base to explore the Great Ocean Road and all it has to offer, ideally located half way between Lorne and Apollo Bay. Wye River pub is just 5 minutes drive for a great meal. The Ridge Track is just a minute away - for a fabulous bush walk or mountain bike ride. There are numerous walking tracks in the area and an excellent book is available from Geelong Bushwalking Club.
~ bringing your international visitors, to see koalas, Australian birds such as parakeets, kookaburras and other wildlife. Koalas are frequently right on the property and the birds visit daily.

[Kennett River Surf Life Saving Club patrols the local surf beach at specific times]
The beach in view in the picture to the right, is not the closest swimming beach. This is the view looking back up the Great Ocean Road towards Melbourne. The Kennett River beach is best imagined in orientation from the picture of the house above. The ocean view here is looking NE from the balcony; the closest beach is located more SE, as if you continued out of the picture to the left of the house above....down the hill. The house is in an elevated position (500 metres above sea level) 1 km off the Great Ocean Road.

Just over 2 hours drive (160 km West) from Melbourne CBD this house is perfectly situated for a weekend getaway or a longer holiday to give yourself time to chill out and truly escape!

In 2006 we have had 32 groups of guests stay from 2 nights to 10 days.
Of these 37.5% are repeat visitors.
