1977 - Heron 7171

I started sailing Enterprise dinghies in the UK shortly before moving to Sydney, Australia. After a short dabble with water skiing I returned to sailing and a very neat Heron (Sail # 7171) was the first to fill the garage. Great small family boat for racing, social sailing and picnics (with an outboard!).

As the family grew I moved up to a Hartley TS16 which I renamed Tack Ticks. It really was just a grown up dinghy, but did have space for the family dog!

1987 - Hartley TS16 "Tack Ticks"
1998 - Laser We dabbled with a Laser, but this was really just to get the boys into racing (at BYRA - Bayview Yacht Racing Association).

And then we moved to Perth and after a couple of seasons crewing I purchased my first yacht in 1991 - a very competitive Endeavour 26 which I renamed Strange Times.
This was sold in 1996 after many successful years racing.

1992 - Endeavour 26 Strange Times

1997 - Spacesailer 24 Ceilidh

I then moved into "cruising mode" in 1996 and here's my Spacesailer 24 Céilidh.

In 2001 I moved up into a Van De Stadt 30 (Pion) named Ling Kong.

...... mid-2006 and Ling Kong had to go as part of retirement planning.

January 2007 and a move to a new home in Broome in the north west of Western Australia.

Couldn't keep off the water for long, so purchase of a Hobie Bravo. In addition, fun and games by joining the Sea Rescue and driving Redbill II.

Go on, enjoy yourself - have some fun outside for a change! Go on down to Broome Sailing Club and just join in. I guarantee BSC will get you on a boat for a sail!
You never know you might even like it .......
