First up a bit of 'house-keeping' - Netscape users may not get the full benefits of my pages
as Netscape just does not work well with all java scripts, graphics, animations, midi's etc
despite my use of standard midi players etc? Even my web design utility
programs I use come up with warnings eg Gif Construction Set often warns that certain animations
being created may not work with Netscape? Because of this I prefer to recommend (despite it being
Microsoft!) Internet Explorer 5.0, or above, as have found it works with all features on all pages, including
mine, whilst surfing the net. I can't say the same for Netscape. Anyone with any answers then
contact me please! No disrespect to the Netscape product or its users intended, just a statement of
fact as I have found it and also been relayed to me by users of both browsers. No information currently
held on performance of other browsers. (also please contact me regarding this) No hate mail please!
Constructive criticism and advice most welcome especially if it will enhance the surfing of my pages
for all users, including the Netscape ones! (smile) Of course advice from Netscape users, along with
version number, to the contrary awaited also. You could install both browsers on your computer which would give you the best of both worlds?! For your information over 85% of visitors to all of my pages are using some version of Internet Explorer with 10% being Netscape and remainder Amiga, Macintosh etc browsers.

Page best viewed at minimum 800 x 600 resolution or higher, preferably, with browser
maximised. Photos etc much better at 1024 x 768.
(but may have to select a larger font size for higher resolutions)
Originally done with Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02 on a 17" monitor. Over a period of time I have continually updated Internet Explorer and presently use version 5.5.
I have tried to accomodate smaller monitors by writing this, and checking it, in a smaller window so please let
me know if any hassles viewing on your size monitor etc.
To get the full benefits of all the pages here you should be using an up to date browser and have Java enabled. If not then
some effects etc may not work and may even appear as if errors are within our pages eg blank spaces etc.
IE 5.0 and up works fine, Netscape may be iffy on some things.
Sorry can't please all set-ups but genuinely do try my best!

click for this sites quick page links! Please note that this is my very first look at creating my own web page so bare that in mind with any criticisms you may have. I am interested to hear if you find anything wrong with the way this page appears on your browser or anything at all - even good stuff! (also tell me the browser and version you are using) I started off with a font one size larger than this but dropped back so hope this is comfortable to read. E-Mail! me with any suggestions etc. Most of this top half of the page was created from scratch in the first hour or so of making my mind up to finally do it. From there I was so glued to the computer for next few days and actually was still going through my tutorials at 4.30 am for 3 days in a row! (This may account for any weird things on the site also?) Probably won't be finished as quick as it started! I (John) am writing the html code, not using any of those cheating web page design programs in the hope that I will actually understand the workings of it all. (just using about 20 or so basic tutor pages provided by my ISP) The one thing I will attempt to do is get the spelling correct unlike a lot of sites around - pet hate of mine. I still bet you will be able to find a mistake or two though! You won't find anything real fancy here just me and my family being excited (easily done eh!) at being on the world wide web!! You may find some of my links and contacts of use. There may be some other Ellery's out there interested in the fact that we have the same surname. Fine, but please bare in mind I have not been an active family tree information gatherer. However my Father has had these discussions with various other Ellery's all over the place - I DO KNOW ONE THING DO NOT FALL FOR THOSE MAIL ORDER OFFERS TO SELL YOU A BOOK OF YOUR FAMILY NAME - FROM WHAT I HEAR THE BOOK IS THE SAME FOR EVERYONE BASICALLY EXCEPT FOR THE SURNAME.
* sorry can't seem to get this one to work!? (smile, smile, smile)
please read conditions below. ('conditions' used for want of a better word - bit heavy, sorry)

A few relatives and friends have various interests and businesses
that may be of interest to others however they are not all on the internet so I am acting,
via my PERSONAL E-Mail!, to pass on any
messages. Please note that I am only acting as go between ie purely providing the
electronic medium to help out via internet contacts that they would not normally be able
to have made. Any hassles whatsoever will mean the removal of the contact. So if you are
wishing to contact any of them you can by sending an
E-Mail! via me with your request. Please
give a return contact, other than internet / e-mail, so that it can be passed on. Up to
the person you wish to contact to take it up from there although would gladly pass on any
further messages you may send. Should the 'contact' give me permission to disclose a phone
number or the like I will. I do not profit in any way. Thanks.
1) STEVE ELLERY SCREEN PRINTING
Unlisted phone number as all work is via word of mouth. Is my current employer. My brother
started and owns the business with my parents and been going strong for 6 odd years @ 2/99.
He specialises in stickers, magnets, PVC etc etc and free quotes not a problem. No job too
large or too small. Phone +61 (02) 96186066 - Fax +61 (02) 96186077 at Ingleburn Australia
or just E-Mail! him. As of 22.10.99 he is on the web! See "Links to Friends" section below for the web link or simply click on his name above.
(Don't forget to tell me where you found me from!)
2) BEUNA VISTA NURSERY
Specialist and growers in Ephyphyllums and Zygocactus and the like. A lifetime of knowledge
etc available. My father's lifetime hobby and now one of the most well known growers and
very knowledgable on the subject. Has done some writings and made speeches at various
venues. Dad has developed and bred many new Zygocactus etc and in fact he has two at
present that are the best for 1999. (most popular and best colour) One is called "John
Ellery" and is number one for '99!
NOTE:- Dad & Mum, as of late 2000, have retired but still maintain the hobby from their backyard, just on a lesser scale. There are only hundreds, not thousands, of plants now!
3) FINCHES
I have an excellent contact for finch enthusiasts. This breeder has kept and bred Foreign
and Australian finches all his life. (Almost 30 years @ 2/99). Although not a keen seller
from his 'backyard' he would be willing to make contact via myself to genuinely interested
persons. Just drop me an e-mail or sign my guestbook via links at bottom of this page.
This is probably a good place for this 'plug' for a mouse trap manufacturer here in Australia.
A letter was written to the RoundPoint Peg Co Pty Ltd about their plastic safe'n'sure mousetraps
regarding the availability of getting some replacement springs for them. The springs are really
the only part of this excellent trap that detiorates over a period of time. Well 21 traps were
received in the mail with compliments! In this day and age to get a reply alone is a miracle and
so this gesture of customer relations / goodwill can't be let go without some recognition and this
is it!
1) Does not hurt like wooden traps if you accidentally catch your fingers in it.
2) Very sensitive and catches baby mice no worries at all.
3) Clean and can remove 'catch' without having to touch it.
4) Washable.
5) etc!

Dreamworld Dreamworld Theme Park on Queensland Gold Coast we visited again 1/99 - experience the rides on the net via movies.
Laura's Midi Heaven A site surfed into ages ago and it is being maintained! At 3/1999 she is having legal hassles with Karaoke stuff and when I last visited the site it was closed but I eventually found she was up and running again at this current link. Has heaps of National Anthems complete with flags, some animated, and lyrics. Also has greeting cards etc etc. Laura told me in a return email, 2/2000, that she is still working on her new site to get it all up and running and hopes to have all her karaoke midis back online soon. Still worth a visit even now.
Krazy Karaoke This site has heaps of free Karaoke midi downloads. (For non-profit and educational purposes only - of course). If you are into Karaoke this is well worth a visit BUT if it is your first time to the site then it can be a bit slow at loading and opening up.
Unitech Electronics Pty Ltd Friends of ours that have an Amiga computer repair business. CLICK for more information
The Queensland Finch Society Inc. Nice site with background sounds of birds once fully loaded.
Campbelltown Council Our local council's site here in Aussie - not that I'm a fan of theirs but has some local stuff on site. Links also to the official Sydney Year 2000 Olympics site and a virtual tour of our own new Olympic standard track which it is envisaged many Olympic athletes will train at!
Google Search Engine This is probably one of the currently best search engines on the net as at 3/2001. I have even gone off Ask Jeeves, Web Wombat, Alta Vista etc of late. This one is super fast and I rarely have trouble finding what I am looking for with this. Hence my new link to them and removal of others! Thanks for the service. NOTE that I am not saying the others are no good, they are, but just not (in my opinion) the best anymore. They have made changes over the years which I feel not really improvements and have "slowed" up too. Some continually drop your pages off and you have to resubmit and so far that is not happening at Google. Give it a go and be the judge. Know of any others???
Prime Minister of Australia's Home Page Lot of history, words to our National Anthem (if you don't believe the ones on my Anthem Page!) etc here.
VanBasco's Midi / Karaoke Player An excellent, simple to use Karaoke and/or Midi player. Go here for a free trial version. Limited to 30 days use then you have to register it. The software is downloadable from the internet. I found Bastian Tugemann of this German business very prompt and helpful. He answers e-mail too! I actually purchased the registered version via credit card over the net. Very warily I might add but without any problems whatsoever and the Australian eqivalent cost at the time was about $35.00 only. No guarantees from me other than I had no problem with any dealings or the program. Try buying any decent program for that!
NOTE:- This program is now FREEWARE so you no longer have an excuse not to try it out! Why I don't know but that is to your benefit as it is a great Karaoke program and I already have several good free Karaoke midis for download on my KARAOKE & AUSSIE ANTHEM PAGE to get you started!

Australian Schools Ex-Students Contact Register Want to find an old school mate then you never know he or she may be listed here. Why not list yourself whilst there?! A visitor informs me (11/01) that this link is not working. I have left it here in case the site is just down for maintenance (hope so as it is an excellent resource). I am also trying to find if they have moved. Thanks to the visitor for taking the time to help me ensure my 'no dead links' policy!
Choice Magazine Australian Consunmers' Association - independent testing done on all sorts of products and lists of recalls, bans etc etc.
Sydney On View Accidently found this site. It is a live camera overlooking Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Harbour, Opera House etc. The best part is you can actually control the camera, for a couple of minutes at a time, and even save the shots as files on your PC! When you click snapshot it opens another browser window with the picture and you save it from there just like any other picture on the web. It has full zoom and pan and you can practically see the colour of passer-bys eyes. (Bit of an exaggeration but it is good) It works really well but does get busy sometimes. If not too busy you only have to wait another few minutes to gain control. Obviously the best time is Aussie daytime to see anything! The only thing is I have a fast connection so how smoothly it operates with a modem is unknown - it should be just a bit slower is all?
Logan Crusaders Queensland Logan City Ice Hockey Club's web page. The Webmaster, Jeff A., surfed into my site and kindly gave me a link so one good turn deserves another. Check out the site!
South Sydney Rugby League Club My Aussie Rugby League Team's site - South Sydney - UP THE RABBITOHS!
If the above Rabbitoh's link fails try HERE!
As at 10/99 the National Rugby League (NRL) and Murdoch's News Limited had declared South Sydney inelligible for the year 2000 competition. After approx 2 years and several court battles Souths won their fight for re-instatemnet into the 2002 competition. The boycotts we were advocating (and listed via my pages) were suspended and removed from the web. The boycott page was changed as a history / chronicle of the events to date. Souths were actually a founding team back in 1908 and it seems that counted for very little where the dollar rules amongst corporate giants that see fit in ruining sport. The league hierarchy did not like it one bit when Souths said NO to merge or die.
Anyhow we are back now, and not before time, and if you are interested in more of the story, Souths links and many hundreds of photos of our events / fundraisers along the way etc then click on the last link immediately below:-
HERE ARE MY OWN RABBITOHS PAGE LINKS:- The next 2 links are my actual full on Souths Pages. The 'stuff' here is just a preview and 'portal' to the main stuff!
I usually link to here as my Souths pages are hosted on free sites and often the URL can change (when no longer free!) so this way at least you will always be able to find the Rabbitoh pages as I will update the links below when necessary. Keep coming back here and you won't lose the Rabbitoh stuff as has happened to many regular visitors in the past. The only inconvenience is an extra click of the mouse on a link below, although some would say the playing of the Aussie National Anthem is an inconvenience on it's own (LOL)! Want more inconvenience, then stick around and have a look at the rest of this page too, my family home page (LOL)?!
Now that I am 'Net Savvy' I can use things like 'LOL'. Sorry if you are new to the Internet, LOL = Laugh Out Loud.

Remember Space Invaders? It was one of, if not, the first game I had on the good old C64
many years ago.
Well I found a version similar to the old C64 / Amiga days for the PC and it is only 59kb!
I downloaded it when surfing one day and it was said to be freely distributable so I have
decided to put it here!
To get the game all you do is download the file by left mouse clicking on CLICK ME! link immediately following the
keyboard instructions below. Once you have downloaded the file just double click it and game will start. (don't forget to remember where you saved it of course). Any hassles then E-Mail! me
and I will email the file back to you. The game is DOS based but when execute the file by double clicking on it, it should go automatically to DOS and return to windows when finished - does for me anyhow!!
