Memorial Day
A major event in the Bmvets calendar is the annual Memorial Day. Held
each year on the Sunday closest to the 18th of August in Springwood.
This year in 2003, it falls on Sunday 17th August. The Guest of Honour
and guest speaker on that occasion will be Rear Admiral Rowan Moffitt
RAN, Deputy Chief of Navy . Make sure you jot the date down in your diary.

Presidents Message - " From all the
positive feedback I have received, it appears that Memorial Day 2001 at
Springwood, at which was the usual large attendance, was again a huge
success. For those members who were unable to attend, the theme of the
Guest of Honour, Air Marshal David Evans, when he spoke during the Memorial
Service was "Never be apologetic". Memorial Day 2002 will be held, God
willing, on August 18. The Guest of Honour and guest speaker on that occasion
will be Admiral Chris Barrie AC RAN who is currently Chief of the Australian
Defence Force. Make sure you jot the date down in your diary."
