| ABOUT ROLEPLAYING GAMES |
|
The hobby that takes up most of my time (well, if not time, then money) is roleplay gaming. It's a stimulating,
imaginative, fun hobby that's part social gathering, part escapism, part acting, part dice-rolling, part
problem-solving and part story-telling.
Like novels, movies and TV shows, there are several genres of roleplaying games, from fantasy and science
fiction to modern-day, historical and horror. Within these genres are the individual games themselves, each with
its own fictional world and set of rules for playing in it.
Below are my own supplements and ideas for various RPGs. My SF bias shines through here, from the giant
robot-oriented Heavy Gear and Macross II games through the post-apocalyptic Systems Failure to the
superheroic Champions: New Millennium. Other interests do shine through, like the action movie-styled Feng
Shui and the crazed, post-apocalyptica of octaNe.

Revised Rules and Setting in Microsoft Word
The Shadow of Yesterday is a roleplaying game published under a Creative
Commons license that allows free-of-charge distribution of the text of the rules and setting. Although the text is
available on The Shadow of Yesterday official site, it's only available
in two separate files: raw text for the rules and non-print-friendly HTML for the setting source material.
In order to make the text a little more user-friendly, I've converted it into two Word documents:
