Sonnet

Into blue twilight, the sun's rays fade
daily and in light's decay ever unceasing
life too ebbs away. Goosebumps betrayed
your lethargy, as you lay teasing
beneath the lamplight. Your gestures feigned
indifference, the hand that trailed the floor
the slow lift of limb. Yet through them I regained
all my lost life - breath pulse desire and more.
In the violet dark, alive anew I adored
a pale rising breast, your hair's cascade
a quivering full lip. Each I explored,
searching out this life which by beauty is made.
The flight of light and life cannot be restrained
but in your playful teasing, new life's contained.

Auslan

Throwing off signs like darting sparrows
she signalled a sensual journey.
Language was flirting with the world.
Her hazel eyes rolled and circled,
a flock of birds seeking a settling.
Her hair flitted to the rhythm of hands
flying through a word-built life.
If only her hands could speak
to me, what stories they would tell,
the temptation of distance and
physical tales of migration.

you want language
trip true raw tongue
whispering lust
drool under smooth
puppy perfect fluff
my honey-drunk will
sweats the fretting
the skin sheen
the bare frantic how
where weakness
meets word need

her lime sharp sweetness,
bite, freshness all to savour
delivered with acidic neatness
by that citrus scent and flavour

vodka lime kick
salsa lime coriander
tequila lime lick
a tongue's meander

esters and fine aromas
from a storm shaken tree
cloudy soothing sodas
her citrus sweet mystery
