Valentine's Day Epithalamion
I was working on an Epithalamion for a couple of friends who got married last month. I had thrown out a couple of drafts by the time Valentine's Day. This was the result when I started to put together a Valentine's Day poem.
long after roses fade and champagne bubbles burst
when the party is over and time has done its worst
this love will sparkle, bring joy and beauty to life,
lift us in good times and shepherd us through strife.
Lovers find too rarely mutual magic that endures,
two sets of joyful smiles are not easy to ensure,
but those who work together have happiness to gain
and forget the arguments or little aches and pains.
Nothing in life is perfect or (thankfully) quite complete
but this love sets a standard for others to compete.
Surrender to your passions, bask in love and care,
and create a lucky life that our family can share.
Turn this life into an enduring shared celebration,
long days of roses, champagne, love and elation.
Tickle Me Pink
the shiver, the shudder, the spine-tingling jolt
the laughter, the giggles that won't ever halt,
Flushed in the face, skin covered in bumps,
nipples sensitive, hard as little sugar lumps
Whether my feet, my skin or upper inner thigh
oh how I yearn for release that final long sigh
No darling dearest, it's not what you think,
I only surrender when you tickle me pink.
sun on water
There is beauty in the morning sun on water;
the glow of renewed love, the dawn's daughter;
a feline stretch on a night's tangled sheets;
the rumble of peak hour traffic on the streets;
a sky with blue of empty, endless, quiet calm;
the flow of music that gently signals my alarm.
Too many things threaten to take me from you,
when the day and passion are fresh, born anew.
passion
Flamenco rhythms of my heart
drive on my stamping feet.
Want creates an urgent start
that yearnings help complete.
My heart's song and thunder
cries through heat and sweat.
Our legs will not buckle under;
We ache but can't forget.
Music and our passion swells
we dance towards our goal.
The energy of life now tells;
our passion makes us whole.
