Proem

A pebble dropped into still water creates waves that soon dissipate.
In flowing water, an enduring wave forms where the pebble comes to rest. You splashed into the flow of life and now an ever changing ripple stands reminding me, as the hours pass, of your presence just below the surface.

the skinny dip

our clothes embrace on the grassy bank
laughter dances through the valley
mud squelches between our toes
and in the chill waters of the stream,
with goose bumps of chilled expectation,
we slip toward the fiery contact
of the moon white water of skin
and phosporescent attraction
