sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

Edited Saturday, August 09 2008

This web-page is part of a larger site giving examples of how to install Windows+Ubuntu Linux operating systems 'dual boot' in a computer.  Illustrated Dual Boot HomePage
Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Hardy Heron was officially released on Thursday 24th of April.

Advances in the X-server technology that Hardy Heron brings with it made the information that used to be in this web page obsolete.

Hardy Heron uses the latest Xorg 7.3  Xwindow system from X.Org Foundation.
The command 'sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg' can still be run in Hardy Heron if you want to, but it's a lot simpler now so there's no need for a web page about it.
I don't know much about the new Xorg anyway, so I don't feel qualified to present any information about it. Sorry for any inconvenience.
