Hi

Enjoy this early edition of VBATUTOR NEWSLETTER for April, 2001, because there will be a seven week gap before VBATUTOR NEWSLETTER for May, 2001, is sent out. I am just about to head off for a holiday to Europe. I will send out the May issue in mid May when I get back. Sorry to those who have contacted me recently if I have been a little tardy in replying, but I have been busy getting a lot of loose ends tidied up. Obviously, I will not be able to answer any help request till the middle of May as well.

Bye until then

Gary Radley

This site has some great articles on WORD.

SITE #2: ~ http://cma.zdnet.com/texis/techinfobase/techinfobase/pdisplay.html?docid=2687701

Mastering Access can be a daunting task even if you consider yourself an Access expert. Part of the problem is the absence of an Access-to-SQL interface, but this limitation doesn't have to slow you down. This article shows you how to avoid some of the more common coding mistakes.

SITE #3: ~ http://businesssoft.about.com/compute/businesssoft/cs/microsoftexcel/index.htm

This is an excellent site for many articles on EXCEL.

FORM TIP:

The following Microsoft ‘accessdev’ article demonstrates the differences between modeless and modal pop-up forms, explaining when each  should be used.

WORD TIP:

As convenient as the updating capabilities built into Word fields may be, sometimes you will want to prevent a field's results from updating itself. To do so, lock the field by clicking on it and pressing [Ctrl][F11]. Unlock it by clicking on it and press [Ctrl][Shift][F11].

EXCEL TIP:

There are many ways to insert an Excel chart into another Application that supports OLE (All Office programs). The easiest, and most likely least used method is to simply drag and drop.

ACCESS TIP:

When you use multicolumn combo boxes, you can set the column widths for some columns to 0. This hides the data from the user, and
is especially useful when the data source is from a table and you want to display lookup data without displaying primary keys.
