What
you should do if you find sick, injured or orphaned native fauna
- Bird: place
in box (with lid and airholes) and keep in a warm, dark undisturbed
place
- Mammal:
Use towel to handle, then same as above
- Baby mammal:
Wrap in something woollen or cotton, then same as above
- Lizard:
Place box over, and weigh down with something heavy
- Snake: Do
not touch - stay away!!! Keep children and pets away!!!
- Do not try
to feed any of the above

Sydney
Metropolitan Wildlife Services Inc. is a native wildlife rescue
and education service which is dedicated exclusively to Sydney's
native animals.
SMWS is a non-profit
organisation operating under licence from NSW National Parks and
Wildlife Service.
It is based
in Lane Cove National Park, West Chatswood, but has experienced
wildlife carers throughout the Sydney area.
Office hours
hours are: 9am to 4pm, seven days a week.
The telephone
is also monitored after hours.
