Bossiaea scolopendria

Family: Fabaceae

This unusual Bossiaea has undeveloped leaves and flattened branches which stand weakly erect to about 1 m or sprawling.

The pea flowers are deep yellow with red centres. They grow on short stems at nodes on the branches.

It is widespead in heath and open forest on sandstone, but limited to the Sydney region.

Scolopendria comes from the Greek word for millipede, indicating the appearance of the plant.
