Acacia terminalisAcacia terminalis

Sunshine wattle

Family: Mimosaceae

Once known as Port Jackson wattle, this acacia is a graceful, open shrub usually about 1.5m high. The branches have been a source of witchetty grubs.

It is distinguished by its profuse, showy yellow globular flowers. The leaves are dark green and shiny above, paler and duller underneath. It grows abundantly on moist ground in lightly forested areas, often in poor soil. It can be seen along the roadsides in the park.
