The following rare chess books have been collected over many years. In some cases I have had the book repaired (I use Sydney bookbinders Eric Hansen and Newbold & Collins). Any repairs are noted in the book description. If you would like further details about a book or more photographs, please email me.

'Betts' refers to Betts, D.A. Chess: An Annotated Bibliography of Works Published in the English Language 1850-1968 It covers 2,760 books, giving bibliographic information, publishing history (if the book had several editions) and (usually) a description of the contents.

'L/N' refers to Van der Linde Bibliotheca van der Linde-Niemeijeriana. This is the catalogue of the collection of the Royal Library, The Hague. There are 6,423 entries covering chess books of all types in many languages.
